    Re ESCARGOT, I think it’s an anagram of ‘cold storage’ after deleting ‘old’ from ‘cold’ as indicated by ‘not old’.

    I don’t see why it was necessary to remove the ‘old’ – c = cold anyway, doesn’t it?
