Off-topic Comments

Posted by neildubya on February 17th, 2009

There’s been some discussion over the last couple of days about off-topic chat: some of you like it, some don’t. In an attempt to accommodate both points of view, we have introduced a chat area containing two threads: one for general crossword discussion and another for everything else. When those two threads get too long and unwieldy, we’ll close them and start new ones.

What this means is that we will now have to start enforcing the following code of conduct:

1) Off-topic or aggressive comments in a puzzle-specific post will be deleted silently. If a comment contains a mix of on- and off-topic stuff, the comment will be edited to remove the latter.

2) Repeated violations of 1) will result in the offending commenter having their comments moderated or blocked.

I really don’t want to have to start moderating or blocking people so please – play nicely everyone.
