After two weeks of fiendish Inquisitors, we were due an easy one. Happily for my blogging this was it!
Very egotistical – every clue began with “I” and eight of the answers had an anagram of LODA (the setter) in them. When these letters occurred they had to be replaced according to 3D which was SELF-CREATION – i.e. replaced by LODA
The replacements occurred in 1A EPISODAL, 18A SCHOOLDAYS, 28A LOADMASTER, 39A ODALLERS, 2D PEDALO, 17D ACCOLADE, 24D OLD-AGE and 27D LOADER. So 1A became EPISLODA, 18A became SCHOLODAYS etc.
That was all there was to it. Took between an hour and an hour and a half.
Many of the clues were very simple and I have only remarked where there was something of interest.
