    I haven’t done this puz but re 11ac, I would think that it’s just an anagram of ‘operas’, ‘potential source of’ being the AInd.

    Rather a reverse anagram. If you anagram PESARO, you get OPERAS!,

    Aha, thanks, easy when you know how :) I was stuck on PE for potential energy and O as O[pera]s, thus “source of”, and had no idea how to get the SAR.
