shuchi.

3-4 clues into this crossword and I had a strong sense of déjà vu. A quick search told me why. This is a repeat of FT 13391 published on May 21st, 2010.

This is the first time I’ve seen a repetition in FT, has it happened before?

In any case, if you missed solving the crossword then, you must do it now – it’s a really good one.

The answers/explanations to the puzzle are blogged here: FT 13,391 / Viking.

    Hi Shuchi,

Unless my mind is playing tricks, I think a similar duplication incident happened 2-3 years ago too. I don’t recall the specifics but, again, my hazy memory is that the blogger on that occasion was blissfully unaware of the original.

I did miss the first airing of this puzzle, so at least didn’t miss out today. Hope you enjoyed your unexpected day off!

    Hello shuchi

Well spotted so soon into the crossword! Yes, a repeat, but there are three interesting differences: a word change in 12ac and 23ac and a brand-new clue in 3dn.
    I wonder what happened.
