Hands up who didn’t see a themed crossword coming today! Still, it’s never a chore to blog a Radian puzzle, and this was a very good one. Unfortunately, time pressures mean that I have had to rush this a bit, so please feel free to clear up any loose ends. 9ac, for example.

I’ve had a soft spot for Orlando since my first blog, which was a very enjoyable crossword of his, and I always enjoy his more frequent Cincinnus puzzles in the FT. Today he has endeared himself further to me!
A fun puzzle with some excellent surfaces and wordplay.

Today is Diwali in India. On this festival day I am shortly going out to greet my sisters and brothers who live in other parts of Chennai. This crossword was a quick and pleasant solve for me. Neat wordplay throughout. The two ‘hidden’ clues are well-concealed. I got the top half first, then bottom right and finally bottom left.
