Re 7dn and further to Rishi @1: "no-side the end of a game at Rugby football" Chambers (1998) p. 1098. Presumably there are similar definitions in other editions and other dictionaries, but that is the one I have to hand.

Hi Rishi, and well spotted.

I don’t have the exact clue in front of me just now, but there definitely was an indicator that the US spelling was required. I think it involved Obama somehow, but could be misremembering!

Isn’t there a specification that only UK spellings of words are used?

Or did the clue indicate that it’s the US spelling that is needed?

Simon, I didn’t solve this puz. I would be grateful for a clarification.

When once a match ends, there’s ‘no side’.

Maybe they go to their individual hotel rooms.
