The preamble refers to a quotation which links the three unclued entries – indicating one as being a choice between the other two. The speaker is hidden in the grid, and extra letters in down clues give further hints.

Guardian Prize Puzzle 25,436 by Paul

Not exactly a full-blown theme, but plenty of artists dotted about in here, and the now trademark smattering of smutty words in the clues. Thanks to Paul for a varied and entertaining crossword.
