This was one of those rare puzzles that was both a doddle and a complete pleasure to complete.

This was an enjoyable puzzle, not too difficult, with a new word for me, so it was a 14A (which is a word I dislike!). A lot of help from the 3 related clues, which were quite easy to spot. Thank you Pasquale Definitions are underlined in the clues. Each of the pictures at the bottom has an unidentified link to the puzzle.

A good Thursday work-out from Morph with some topical references, excellent surface readings and great attention to detail (see 5d). 23a and 25a are new to us but they were readily solvable from the wordplay. The references to the present Government in 1a and 10a brought a smile to our faces.

Monday Prize Crossword/Apr 23
After a one-off Tuesday appearance Dante is back on the familiar Monday spot. With the quality we have come to expect from, in a way, the Setter of Setters. Thanks Dante, for another not too difficult but elegant puzzle – one that can be found here .
