My apologies to one and all for the late post – I was kept away from my computer until after lunch.

So, Hamilton, we meet again…
My nemesis from a few weeks ago is on rather more enjoyable form today, not quite having me clicking my heels with joy (it takes more than a crossword to do that on a rainy Thursday morning) but offering up a straightforwardly pleasing puzzle. Only 15ac. remains stubbornly unparseable. Perhaps it’ll come to me as I type…

I haven’t blogged an Orlando crossword for months, so I was very pleased to see his name on this one – a witty puzzle, with lots of fine surfaces and clever misdirection, as always. There are several more unusual words / usages but the cluing is characteristically meticulous, so they shouldn’t cause too many problems.

Dante today as is often the case on a Monday, prize puzzle 14027 from 11th June can be found here. As usual it’s a lot of cryptic and double definitions. People generally find Dante/Rufus easy but personally I don’t really like Cryptic/Double Definitions all that much. If anyone can see wordplay I’ve missed please say so as I’m still a little rusty at blogging again. Sorry but I’ve not found a way to include the clues without me typing them in and tyops would only confuse. My biggest problem is how do I explain the DDs without getting into teaching grandmother how to suck eggs – they are DDs. And as for the CDs…
