Agree with all your parsings, and like you got the two less usual words from the cryptic definitions. GIVE A DOG A BONE was a nice reminder of the old nursery rhymes – my kids all had them read or sung to them when they were little, but in this electronic age, not sure that so many parents are doing the same nowadays.
