Independent 8040 / Nestor (Saturday Prize Crossword 21/07/12)

We found this a relatively straightforward puzzle for a Saturday. Nevertheless it was very enjoyable, and it left us with a bit more time on a busy weekend to tackle the Inquisitor in the magazine.

Guardian Prize 25,694 / Araucaria

I found this a pleasantly enjoyable solve, although over rather quickly for a Saturday.
I’ve seen much tougher clues from Araucaria but there are some nicely constructed ones here. Nothing too outrageous but perhaps a couple of liberties in 1 and 17,18dn. It left me with a smile on my face, anyway.

Enigmatic Variations No.1027 – Checkmate by Shark

Hopefully I’ve got the right puzzle this time. Let’s check… 1027. Yes. Good.
Many apologies for posting the wrong one earlier.

Shark’s ‘Checkmate’ has extra letters and highlighting galore, which I’d like. I’d also like it if ‘Checkmate’ was a reference to the Wu-Tang Clan (warning: link contains rap music), but I doubt it will be. (It’s not.)
