I found this quite a bit tougher than Quixote usually is, solving time 38 mins. Very enjoyable puzzle – esp liked 27A, 8D and 20D.

The 25down Rufus Monday mix of mainly double and cryptic definitions, but all compactly clued, and, though easy, enjoyable to tackle. Thanks Rufus. Definitions are underlined in the clues. [[Each of the pictures at the bottom of the blog has an unidentified link to the puzzle - going back quite a bit in time. As usual, please double-bracket any comments on them.]]

We haven’t seen Beale in the Quiptic slot for some time, and while this was on the whole a fair puzzle, it seemed to me to contain a good number of clues that might prove over-tricky for the target audience.

It may have passed you by, but the Olympics is on at the moment in London, and Cyclops chose to draw attention to it by including a couple of well-known Olympic mottoes in the grid …
