My Chambers has ‘prep. concerning’ for both ‘re’ and ‘touching’. I’ve seen this use a number of times in crosswords.

I did consider re = touching but couldn’t find any provenance in Chambers or the ODE. I see now that Mrs Bradford’s Crossword Solver’s Dictionary includes it.
