Neo is new to me.
I am standing in for scchua who is away at the moment, so it is nice to get some new setters to blog. Very enjoyable and mostly steady going except for the SW corner which took me longer than the rest of the crossword put together. Looking back I can’t see why as the solutions are all there waiting to be found, I just couldn’t seem to get started. Thank you Neo.

This is my first blog of a Jambazi puzzle, and indeed one of the few puzzles of his that I have actually solved, so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect this morning.

Thank you, Phil Ashling for filling in so admirably for me last Tuesday when I was among 1,500 having a celebration lunch in a remote village in Fujian, China. We, all surnamed Yap, had come from many parts of the world for the consecration of a Taoist temple set on top of a hill. The Chinese are very big into ancestor worship and filial piety.
