A challenging puzzle for a Quiptic today in my opinion. Some remote synonyms, unusual definitions, and a surfeit of insertion type clues.

A straightforward enjoyable Quiptic from Arachne (who can turn up or down the difficulty level, as required). Thank you to Arachne. Definitions are underlined in the clues. [[The pictures at the bottom have unidentified links to the puzzle.]]

Another good puzzle with a good range of clue types, but I wonder how many solvers from South of the Border knew the Scottish word for shudder.

I had some trouble with the blogging utilities, so I hope the results make some kind of sense.

A bit tricky for a Quiptic, I thought, but perhaps you think differently.

A typical Quiptic puzzle by Hectence, none too taxing. Thank you Hectence. Definitions are underlined in the clues. [[The 4 pictures at the bottom have unidentified links to the puzzle.]]

A good puzzle with a good range of clue types, but perhaps a little tough for a Quiptic.

This was a delightful way to start the week.
We don’t think we have done a Pan puzzle before but we will keep an eye out from now on. The surface reading of many off the clues was excellent! Read the rest of this entry »

An excellent crossword from Nutmeg, with a Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (all of the Disney dwarfs are there) theme in full view in the clues.

A delightful Quiptic from Orlando, which I think would have been a treat for the intended audience. Plenty of wit, a good variety of devices, and some lovely surfaces.
