I didn’t have a lot of spare time this morning but this still didn’t fill it. I don’t usually give my solving time – but I managed to complete it during a 15 minute tube journey, which is a third of the time I usually takes me. Either I got smart over the weekend or this was the easiest crossword I’m seen for a while. 7 down was a lovely clue though.

Is there a typo in the clue?
I suspect ‘imagines’ should be ‘imagined’.
Online version has ‘imagines’ and like you thought it ought to be ‘imagined’
Agree with Barbara and Berny re imagined. Considering the mismatches between paper and online etc etc, is this the return of The Grauniad?
Yes Stan – was straightforward – as was the Times relatively speaking – Indy was a somewhat more challenging theme puzzle. After the delights of Saturday’s Araucaria’s jigsaw with its rhyming couplets, I suppose one has to go along with the run of the mill.
The Scottish paper edition had 27ac with ‘imagines’ too. It may have been corrected in later editions.
As it happens, 13D works equally well for baseball fans.
