I thought 8D was a straight cryptic definition, i.e. a dewlap is a fold of skin found on cattle: I couldn’t find a reference to it as a means of marking cattle?
26 across…. as Tiny Tim was?
Hello everybody. I’m not that keen on “..hirl….” v “hurl” (throw) in 11 ac. I feel soundalikes should be aurally, not orthographically, similar in the answer.
But maybe I’m picky.
I agree with Paul G about 8D. Seems like a straight clue to me, which stopped me filling it in for a while. Was wondering if ‘fold’ was a DD for some kind of pen. Unless I am missing something?
25A: I thought a novella was a short novel, not a short story.
8dn DEWLAP: I didn’t get the cattle reference either Liz, but see http://www.cowboyshowcase.com/glossarycattle.htm
