For 18 (not 9) — is SLAPPER Brit slang for “working girl”? As a mere USAn, I’m not familiar with the term. Somehow I contrived to convince myself that SNAPPER was what was wanted.

Anyway you’ve answered your own question – a slapper is indeed a tart in the sense of “working girl” – actually more like “good-time girl” I would say, and it is now definitely non-politically correct to slap your kids (except in anger, hopefully).
