A fairly easy solve for me, after the previous day’s debacle with Nimrod for which I was quite glad. 12 ac was a new word on me but the anagram and crossing letters led nowhere else.
Still a nice little run-around, thanks Quixote.

re: Perm
A perm (short for permanent wave) is not a hairstyle, but rather a hair treatment in which the hair is given a curl which lasts several months.
Hi Barbara, my Collins lists Perm as a hairstyle which is enough to give Quixote the freedom to clue it as such.
On a personal note due to work commitments I’m stopping doing the weekday blog, it’s been fun but it’s just too much at the moment and our most highly esteemed Gaufrid will be taking over. I’ll still be doing the once a month Quixote however.
Thanks flashling.
Usual super stuff from Quixote, all soundly clued as ever.
ANTINOMIANISM is quite a useful piece of doctrine as it,basically allows a believer to do as they please.
I have only heard Dame Myra’s chamber music recordings with, amongst others,Pablo Casals.I can highly recommend their recording of the Brahms piano trios.
Top clues for me DEGAS,which made me laugh and GARROTTER.
Sorry to hear that you’re having to give up the weekday blog, but I guess now you’re no longer amongst the ranks of the unemployed that it must be difficult to find the time to do it.
I will no doubt, still see your comments throughout the week and I look forward to your monthly outings here.
