Apologies for the delay with this one. I lost my laptop mid-week and had to re-solve this online. In doing so, I’ve lost the name of the setter! It was just as much fun 2nd time around though, so many thanks to whoever it was. Favourite clue 2D.

The setter was Raich. Excellent I thought.
Sorry to hear that Ali, fine stuff Raich, thanks both
Yes, a nice one from Raich with some super clues yet nothing obscure. Appropriately, FINALIST was my last one in. I liked ESTUARY and TRUMPET but my CoD has to be BRASSY both for its surface and sauciness.
Thanks, Raich and Ali
Many thanks, Ali – sorry to hear about your troubles.
As has been said, lots to like here – too many good ones to single out, really.
Some lovely anagrams, though – eg AGINCOURT and STEINBECK.
Frustrated for a while by 2dn: couldn’t get CABLE CAR out of my head, though I knew BRASSY had to be right [suoer!]. Then the penny dropped re the artist!
Many thanks, Raich – I really enjoyed it.
[I meant CABLE CARS, of course.]
