Not sure I’ve had the pleasure of blogging a Poins before, but this was good stuff. I managed this in one sitting and there was nothing too tough, but also nothing to query or complain about, which is how it should be!

I think I would query 26a in equating ‘symbolist’ with ‘decadent’, although I can see the connection. Otherwise I’d agrre that there was nothing too tough, but also nothing to query or complain about.
Thanks, Poins and Ali
Decadent (with cap) is close enough to Symbolist, isn’t it?
None of these answers fit with any of the answers I filled in last week, and I now see that last week in the paper I had, they reprinted crossword 1177 and as that originally appeared the weekend I got back from holiday, I’d not had time to look at it and didn’t recognise the reprint.
Was this mentioned anywhere in here? I didn’t spot it.
Paul B @2: Point taken. I should have looked in Chambers rather than Collins!
Collins has it at decadent under Noun 4.
