  1. Nothing too difficult here, but some lateral thinking needed to parse some of the clues, e.g. SPIDER (type of rest used in snooker). Good misdirection in 11ac where ‘learner’ directs one’s thoughts towards ‘college’ as an educational establishment. But no way could we be said to have been treated 16dn.
