And there has been great rejoicing throughout cruciverbia because Cincinnus is back in this slot after an interval of nearly three months. For me, it is an unexplained absence. I do hope all is well with you, Mr. Curl.

And a fine puzzle this is. My top clues are 1A (BEWILDER), 9A (BESOTTED), 13A (AXMINSTER), 4D (EYEWASH) and 21D (RETSINA).

  1. Thanks Pete. Yes it is good to have Cincinnus back. There were two or three I couldn’t get including 27A.

    I found 28A interesting because initially I wrote in Robust. Robusta somewhat lacking. And strength is the definition. But I guess it doesn’t quite work because Robusta is not a blend is it? It is a varietal.
