Lorraine: Good morning to you all.
Well what can I say. I could not write them in quick enough, one look and the answers just kept coming! I love it when that happens, crossword head on obviously.
I cannot tell the first in as they really were popping out of me. 18dn was last in, I knew it but just had to check it out.
Great, great crossword Everyman.
Big thanks to you as always.

This was an enjoyable, quick solve. I particularly liked 6d, 17a, 10a, 13d and my favourites were 18d SUCCOUR, 9d POETRY IN MOTION, 14a BAG LADY.
New words for me were TRIVET, Herm Island.
Thanks Everyman and Lorraine.
16a could have been tiepolo or tiesolo and unless you knew the painter impossible to pick between.
Bamberger@2
Is there an artist named TIESOLO? Tiepoloo the other hand is very well known.
sorry, I meant TIEPOLO above….
Michelle
Exactly my point-if you know Tiepolo the answer is clear . If you’ve never heard of him then the cryptic gives you a pick between polo (as in horses) or solo (as in cards). Ok Mr Google gives you the answer but I try to solve unaided .
bamberger@5
okay, i understand what you are saying. I was lucky then to choose TIEPOLO
I have just noticed something… compare 20dn with 23ac here:

Yes this one was relatively easy but fun. I hadn’t heard of Tiepolo but guessed right.
