Thanks Sil and Dante.
Another one for 15 mins at bedtime and 5 to finish off on the train.
Typically Dantean with a number of the CDs pretty weak – like Under Age, Pergola (questionable) and Hair Grip.
I think that the clue for Stun is missing an ‘S’ indicator. Should it have been ‘union’s’?
Sil’s explanation of Stun seems fine to me. The possessive ‘s is implied by “caused by”.
For me a typical Dante , romp through about 80%, get the other 10% with a bit of thought and fail to get the last 10% no matter how hard I try.
Just could not get
3d I thought it might be onion bed -I really do not see how it equates to developing.
4d I thought dado was as per https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dado_(architecture) and had nothing to do with being the base of a column.
11a, 19a -never heard of it and 27a ditto .
Thanks Dante and Sil
Sil, how very strange – my solve of this was almost identical to yours – in particular the PERGOLA / HAIR GRIP experience, ONION SET as the one before that pair and having to search in the Oxford to find it and even the parsing of NUT’S (which in retrospect I think just doesn’t work!)
The only difference is that it took 3-4 elapsed days to unwrangle the 17d-27a issue.
SET FAIR was new and like ONION SET and HAIR GRIP only found it in the Oxford.
Quite a different solve to the normal Dante for me this time.
