I felt there were more ‘entry’ clues than usual in this one and I might have completed it in record time had I not been interrupted by a phone call.

Plenty to enjoy here (particularly 15ac) and a satisfying solve even if I do prefer a stiffer challenge.

  1. As usual, I can’t remember much about solving this. I recall not being sure of the name at 9dn, but I see it is in the list of names in Chambers. I spent ages trying to work out why 6dn was MATZOS.

    15ac defeated me. I guessed TAEN, even though TAEL is next to it in Chambers. Couldn’t connect a weight to “a bit”. Thanks for that.
