Azed 2301

A plain Azed puzzle this week with the usual mix of obscure words, Scottish words and everyday words.  We also needed a bit of French.

 

 

 

There were a couple of compound anagrams this week, as well as three clues leading to entries where the two halves were the same – GREEGREE (22 across), TOITOI (31 across) and PIRI-PIRI (3 down)

We had two consecutive clues referring to ‘special box’ at 13 across and ‘boxing special’ at 14 across.

    After my stroke I continued (,,eventually,) with the G but dropped the Azed. So I was most surprised when zI did finally come back to this one and finished it comfortably
