  1. Thanks for the blog, flashling.
There is indeed a nina, a poetic one with one of the entries being the title… 🙂

  2. Enjoyable easier end stuff. Fave clue 11a, natch, but I missed the nina and still can’t spot it – anyone more enlightened than I care to lightbulb me? Many thanks to The Gridman for the puzzle and to The Flash for the blog.

  3. No fruits, no flowers, no leaves, no birds – November.
No I didn’t know it was by Thomas Hood but I do now.
And no I didn’t spot it. No change there then….
    Thanks to S&B

  4. Thanks, all.
Well spotted, Paul A. In fact Thomas Hood’s November ends

No shade, no shine, no butterflies, no bees,
No fruits, no flowers, no leaves, no birds! –
    November!

Only room for one [no] butterfly, and a bee hiding in BEEch. 🙂

  5. Thanks Crosophile – delightful! We totally missed the theme unfortunately but it didn’t spoil the solve. Thankfully, a quick solve as we started it even later than our normal late hour. A good start to the week.

    Thanks flashling.

  6. Tackled this despite telling myself I should go to bed, and polished it off in half an hour or so. Missed the theme but enjoyed the puzzle. FOI FRUITS and Last 2 in SHINE and SHADE. Thanks flashling an crosophile. Now to bed before I drop off in the chair….zzzzz
