  1. A pleasant solve for me, except for GERBERA which I didn’t know. Not keen on names such as that at 18a in cryptics but, fortunately, I had seen his name not too long ago in another cryptic. I parsed 1a as B + ATHROB + E. Thanks to S&B.

  2. All done except for 18ac which was totally beyond us.  We did get 6dn but thought it an unsatisfactory clue, needing to find just the surname of one in however many models there are in the world.  And we needed help for several others.  Not a particularly enjoyable solve, but thanks, Hypnos and scchua.
