SLEUTH starts off the week with a great puzzle!

Our first SLEUTH blog, and most enjoyable it was too.

A lot of well constructed anagrams (PARLOUR GAMES, FILM STAR, NOMENCLATURE) and some great surfaces. LIAISE took us longer than it probably out to, and LEFT BANK was our LOI.

Thanks SLEUTH!

  1. Thanks Sleuth and Teacow

A surprise start to the week … but a welcome one, which took me twice as long as it normally does for a Monday puzzle !  Felt like doing four mini-crosswords in each corner with only the long anagrammatical clues to bind them together.

Never expect Australian answers, so HOBART took longer than it should have to show up as the island capital. Saw the Fens come up recently in relationship to Lincolnshire and didn’t realise that they spread into Cambridgeshire and Norfolk as well.

Sounds like I finished in a similar manner as the blogger with LIAISE, LEFT BANK and BIND my last few in.

  2. Thanks to Sleuth and Teacow. Lots of fun. I did not know ROCKET as reprimand and did not link AI to “capital” in LIAISE but otherwise proceeded smoothly.
