Never knowingly undersolved
Apart from one or two grumbles detailed below, this was all pleasantly done. Several good clues, such as 24ac. I need help on the parsing of 20ac, which is quite beyond me, but otherwise it all seemed reasonably easy.

Thanks also to Cryptic Sue for being and early bird and spotting this morning that I had inadvertently posted a blog for yesterday’s puzzle by mistake.
Enjoyed this – a lot of neat constructions and some sneaky definitions. The online Special instructions mentioning a correction to the clue for 9 down also brought a smile [9 across now reads “worthy committees”]. Favourites were 3dn and 13dn. Thanks to Nutmeg.
Just seeing that we had an Eccles to blog today raised a smile and the solve didn’t disappoint.
