  1. KVa

My top faves: ENMESH, HAND IN HAND, HOAX and SISYPHUS.

    Thanks to Tees and scchua!

  2. Hovis

A reasonably straightforward but enjoyable crossword from Tees today. Had a slight holdup entering MAINSPRING for 19a but 21d soon put me right.

  3. Tatrasman

I struggled to work out MACARTHUR but otherwise all straightforward and most enjoyable, so thanks Tees and Scchua.

  4. FrankieG

Liked MACARTHUR ASHE, SISYPHUS (who wasn’t Elvis), LAMB CHOP (who wasn’t a “sock puppet”), and ALI (who was the Greatest)
    Thanks T&s

  5. PostMark

MACARTHUR came more easily to mind than I might have expected – and was my clue to solving ASHE rather than the other way around. As per FrankieG, both Elvis and the glove puppet suggested themselves when solving – luckily I had enough crossers to avoid overmuch distraction with SISYPHUS. I also enjoyed SILK ROAD and TWINSET (where I wasted time attempting to anagram F and ATTIRE). COTD just because it raised such a smile was HOAX – presumably what posh folks have growing on their hestates.

    Thanks Tees and scchua

  6. Petert

MACARTHUR, HOAX and SISYPHUS were my favourites. I was reminded of the famous headline “MacArthur flies back to front”. Thanks to Tees and scchua.

  7. rocket

DNF due my my not knowing very much Greek mythology and there being no way of getting the answer other than GK. Could not for the life of me work out the parsing of MACARTHUR for some reason.

Personally found this a bit of a headscratcher on occasion but very enjoyable nonetheless for the most part.

    Thanks to Tees and scchua.

  8. John Dunleavy

LOL at SISYPHUS. Great crossword. Bravo Tees and thanks Schua.

  9. Tony Santucci

Thanks Tees for the Sunday entertainment. My top picks were ENMESH, STIR, SISYPHUS, BOOK, HARD-WON, PUMPS, DIRTY WORD, and SPOTTER. With a nudge I guessed HOAX and SULTANA but couldn’t parse either one nor could I parse MACARTHUR so thanks scchua for explaining.

  10. Matthew Newell

Thanks Setter and Blogger. I was fixated on vicious perhaps -> snide -> o + nside; but couldn’t see why. Because I was barking up the wrong tree.

  11. Tees

    Thanks scchua and all commenters.

    Cheers
    Tees
