I liked THESPIAN (&Lit?) and INDIRECT, LITTLE-BY-LITTLE, HALF THE TIME, and YIDDISH for tongue were other favourites. Thanks scchua for a helpful blog and clever clogs Filbert.
My top faves: The & lit THESPIAN, CLEVER CLOGS and HUG!
Quite an enjoyable puzzle and a superb blog with nice apt pics.
Thanks Filbert and scchua!
22a is missing the I (current) in blog.
Loved LITTLE BY LITTLE and the nice reference to the famous chandelier episode of OFAH.
Nic to see Fil here.
Elegant and superb! Thanks Filbert and Sschua.
Either that was a gentle Filbert or we’re starting to get him! Some excellent clues, little by little and Yiddish being favourites.
Thanks Filbert and sschua.
Really superb. I’ll add CHAGRIN to the list of ticks. Thanks both.
Worth the entry price for CHANDELIER alone; what a delightful CAD. Thanks both.
For 22 it seems you overlooked the I for current. It didn’t spoil my enjoyment of both puzzle and blog.
Thanks all.
As others have mentioned Chandelier was excellent in every way.
Thanks Setter and Blogger
I almost hate to say it, with such a great clue, but ‘a Trotter’ would have improved it. I mean, with the dbe gate left wide open, what the hell is a CHANRODNEYIER for goodness’ sakes? Or a CHANCASSANDRAIER? Thank God the grid gave us a break!
Seriously though, I like all three answers (there are others), but that is because I have been to the pub. And because I hate idiots. I liked 4 down.
