Hi again, everyone.

Four weeks to go! We’re now at the stage where I need to liaise with the venues about final numbers attending and eating. I would be grateful therefore if those of you who responded on the thread of my previous post would check below that I have transcribed your attendance and food details accurately. If there are errors, or your requirements have changed, please let me know on the thread below.

Although the events are as usual, the venues have changed! Please therefore read the following details carefully and refer to the very helpful map, which should open in a new tab.

If your details are correct, there is no need to contact me.

But I do need to know about it if you have ordered food and can no longer attend, otherwise I shall have to reimburse the venues from my own pocket (last year there were seven such cases …).

Even at this late stage, if anybody else would like to attend, you’d be made most welcome, but we have now reached the limit on pre-food orders for Saturday. If you are not listed for food below, you may of course still order from the pub menu.

Please leave your A-E details on the thread below.

A reminder about the A-E key:

A – your name as you wish it to appear along with, if different from, your real name (unless you wish not to have your real name on your badge – let me know below);
B – attending Friday’s event
C – as B and partaking of the buffet
D – attending Saturday’s main event at the Marcia Inn
E – as D and partaking of the buffet

Between now and the event, please check this thread regularly in case any details have changed in any way.

  6. Apologies. I should have visited fifteensquared more often. I missed your earlier announcements and now am committed for that weekend. I would be most interested in attending any future events and henceforth will be more careful. It looks like a very distinguished line up!
    I would like to take the liberty of sending you a couple of crosswords I have drafted to be blogged if that is accepable.

  18. Hoping to attend either Friday or Saturday possibly both but won’t know for certain until later this week. I’m happy to order from menu myself at either/both as necessary. So just a name badge if I can make it and you still have room for a last minute straggler.

  19. Hi John. Sadly as last year York is too much for me. I’ve checked hotels and travel costs and although not broke the weekend would set me back circa £600. Plus coming up to 83 it’s a bit too much. Can I suggest that sometime you have a “do” down south. Brighton would be perfect. Lots of reasonable accommodation off season with loads of eating establishments plus the homes of Paul (John H) Boatman (Ashley) and nearby Maskerade (Tom) and the recently retired Editor Hugh.     Update to me@18. I’m now definitely able to attend both Friday and Saturday but before I book a ferry to the UK and accommodation perhaps you’d confirm if there’s space for one more?

    Assuming there’s room for me if there’s availability for the buffet at either or both please include me. If not then no problem.

  24. Thanks to John and Jane for organising a most enjoyable event. The new venue was also very successful. After a few years’ unavoidable absence, it was good to see some familiar faces and to meet some new folk.
