Do You Hear What I Hear? Sleigh Bells Ring Are You Listening?

Listener blogs coming soon

Beginning with the Listener puzzle from December 14th (no. 4846), Listener blogs will appear here three weeks after the publication date.

Thus the blog (no. 4846) will be scheduled for 4pm on Friday January 3rd 2025.

Previously Listener blogs appeared on https://listenwithothers.com where there have often been more than one blog. Time will tell if that trend will continue.

  1. Whilst I feel I have neither the time nor talent to solve them I do look forward to the Inquisitor and EV blogs. They tend to be chattier due to the extended solving process and there are faint echoes of the penny drop moments to experience. Please do continue to share the instructions so we can follow along at home! The Big Dave’s Setter’s blogs are also fun to get a peek behind the scenes and the “penny pick up moment” when a working device is discovered. Hoping the Listener blogs will offer somethings similar!

  2. Could a regular possibly confirm – is a Times subscription (either puzzle only or full) the only source of Listener crosswords on the web? I am not interested in “pirated” scans – but a legitimate point of access which isn’t paying the Times/News Corp

  3. Matthew at #3…I believe only a full Times subscription or puzzle subscription will get you access. If you have a student in the family they can subscribe (via ‘student beans’ or similar verification) to the full package for £9.99 a year…and for up to 3 years after they graduate…(;+>)

  4. Matthew at 5: fifteensquared bloggers are granted access to The Listener and many other puzzles, so if you were to join us as a blogger, your wish would be granted!

  5. Is the Times doing puzzle subscriptions again? I used to subscribe to the Times Crossword Club, but when they stopped it I refused to pay Murdoch for news, so just left it.

  6. Goujeers at #7 – a ‘monthly puzzle-only subscription’ was mentioned at the Times Champs Q&A – from memory, they are bringing it in but not publicising it too much(!) I think the suggestion was to call their helpline and ask for it…would be interesting to hear how you get on…

  7. I have a Times puzzles subscription for £5 a month. This gives access to all the daily puzzles and the Crossword Club, which is where the Listener can be found. It comes with a fair amount of newspaper content also. You do have to call them though.
I’ve also just acquired a Telegraph puzzles subscription for £1 for a full year. I don’t know if this is a special offer, but it’s available now.
