Enigmatic Variations 1677 No Fine Feathers by Vismut

31 clues missing a letter in their wordplay – The grid-fill will reveal the founder of an organisation and that organisation. 8 normal clues starting letters then need to be organised into what it led to. The remaining clue is wordplay only and its answer needs to be replaced. Then a circle needs to be drawn and shaded. A complicated one for a change.

A relatively straight forward set of clues to speed one along revealed EMILY WILLIAMSON – THE PLUMAGE LEAGUE (the league that transformed into the RSPB)

Change BIRD to RSPB and add an approximation to their logo

See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Society_for_the_Protection_of_Birds for information on its founding and how the logo really looks is below

Not to forget the starting letters of the 8 normal clues rearrange to RSPB LOGO

Thanks Vismut – a very pleasant solve

  1. Hi Twencelas – if you could just change the blog title to 1677 No Fine Feathers by Vismut I’d be a happy bunny. Thanks Vismut

  2. No worries – at least it meant your lovely blog got a comment, a rarity for the EV’s which is a shame.

Thank you Kippax, I’m glad you enjoyed it.
