Guardian 29,808 – Harpo
I made a slow start on this, and a not much faster finish. Thanks to Harpo for the challenge.

An enjoyable challenge from Guy.
Independent 12156 / Eccles
Eccles appears in his customary slot with another splendid puzzle. You know what you are going to get with Eccles – good clues, a mix of well-known and slightly obscure entries, generally without themes or messages in the grid.
Inquisitor 1925: Long Division by Check
Check is an Inquisitor setter who debuted in February 22 with puzzles appearing just under yearly since then. The four earlier puzzles have had themes focused on sport, science, literature and film. Clearly Check likes to explore different themes. I wonder what we have today?

Maybe I am just tired today, but I found this a bit of a struggle. Upon review of the completed grid, I am not sure what the hold-up was.

BOBCAT kicks off the week…
Independent 12,154/Stamp
Always a pleasure when Stamp turns up as the setter for the Monday Independent slot and I am on duty. A thoughfully constructed, occasionally challenging daily cryptic with a wide range of subject matter and some clever misdirection. What’s not to like?

Gemelo No. 8 – Plain
This is my first foray into blogging a Gemelo puzzle. I have managed to solve Nos. 1-7, but I would agree with Andrew’s comment from last week, that the style of the clues is a little different from Azed–a style that I am still getting the hang of. This week’s grid is unusual for having six fully-checked three-letter solutions.
