A gathering of crossword setters and solvers will take place in London, following on, as in previous years, from the annual lunch for Times setters.
The venue will be The George, Borough High Street, Southwark, SE1 1NH, starting at 2pm. The George no longer takes reservations, but start by looking in the Parliament bar (first door on the right).
It is hoped that most of the Times setters and several of the Telegraph, Guardian, Independent and FT setters will put in an appearance. There should also be a cross-section of bloggers and readers from this site, Times for the Times and Big Dave’s Telegraph blog.
If you’ve never been before, these are very friendly functions and you have the opportunity to meet other like-minded people.
Assuming I’ve survived Nottingham, I’ll be there.
May I also cheekily take this opportunity to plug a warm up gathering tomorrow evening (Weds 12th April) at the same place from 6ish. There’ll be a bunch of Times people joining us and an Indy setter or three too.
Sorry, I can’t really do London in midweek (and definitely not tonight!) – enjoy…
I’ve booked me tickets and hope, if the trains don’t scupper me, to be there around half three.
I’ll be there from about 6 pm – intrigued to find out whether anyone’s still sober at that time …
Optimism, they name is Boatman!
Or even “thy name”. How do you edit this thing…?
