  1. thoroughly enjoyable and right up there with the really good Chalmie puzzle in last week’s FT. Thanks to both

  2. Most of this went in quite easily but the NE quadrant held us up till we got 7 and 8 and then realised that in 9 and 13 the ‘6’ didn’t refer to the clue of that number – a nice bit of misdirection on Alchemi’s part.  No real CoD but all good and enjoyable.

    Thanks Alchemi and flashling

  3. Bit late, but found this refreshing and enjoyable, not too difficult.  Liked 9D.

In 1D, a small query, I think tolerates means “puts up with”, so the parsing is STUP (<puts up) with [accompanied by, next to] OR.

    Thanks to Alchemi and flashling.

  4. Very late getting round to this one but glad that I did – most enjoyable.

Spoonerisms invariably cause me trouble and this one even more so because I was unfamiliar with the answer – thanks for the double whammy, Alchemi!

1d got my vote for favourite.

Thanks to Alchemi and to flashling for the blog – have to admit that I still write cheques on a fairly regular basis.
