Up with the sparrows, or whatever, for this one and grateful for a gentle workout. Stumbled a bit on the components of Pavarotti but a quick solve. Minor blog blip in 1d – should be ‘minus first 2’. Thanks Hypnos and Scchua for the colourful blog.
Thanks Paul A. Blog amended.
It’s always nice to find a Hypnos puzzle, which seems to be a bit of rarity at the moment in any of his guises. This one was light but great fun – and with a perfect homophone!
Many thanks to Hypnos and Scchua.
Enjoyed this very much. Thanks Hypnos and scchua.
So nice to have a puzzle from Hypnos and satisfying to see that he included what used to be one of his trademarks – a mention of Ireland!
I did have to check on the Italian writer but no other problems to report.
Thanks to Hypnos and to scchua for the blog.
A thoroughly enjoyable puzzle in what one might call typical IoS style. We must have been a bit dim not to see ‘like four’ meant ‘even’, although the answer to 8dn was obvious and we even (!) wondered if it was a reference to 4ac, as an amicable person is likely to be even-tempered. Doh!
Thanks, Hypnos and scchua.
