ZAMORCA kicks off the week…

Definitely a new setter for me, and, perhaps, everyone! That being the case, welcome ZAMORCA!

A pangram it seems, which is a rare occurance for a monday.
A nice gentle start to the week, with some nice clues – 4a and 3d were particular favourites.

Thanks ZAMORCA!

  1. An easy start to the week but an excellent debut. Nicely crafted surfaces with a very neat pangram. If I had to pick a favourite, I would go for OUTLAW.

    Thanks to Zamorca and Teacow.

  2. I agree with Hovis @1 except that it is hard to pick just one ‘favourite’ in this perfectly pitched Monday pangram

Thanks to Zamorca (more please) and to Teacow

  3. Congratulations on you FT debut Zamorca! And thanks for advertising on twitter so i could rush of and solve this! most enjoyable, very pleasantly elegant, looking forward to more.

    Thanks Teacow

  4. A very nice and easy-ish FT debut.

If I had to pick favourites (but I don’t have to) I would choose: 14ac (RECORDER), 3d (OUTLAW) and 4d (UNCOMFORTABLE).

There are a couple of things I wouldn’t have done (‘we’=’us’ in 1d and Y for ‘young’ in 25ac) but, hey, that’s just me.

Many thanks to Teacow for the blog & Zamorca for the fun.

  5. Thanks Zamorca and Teacow
Always good to see a new setter and thought this a good debut puzzle – not difficult but with some good innovative clues and clear definitions and instruction throughout. Twigged to a potential pangram about halfway though and that helped a bit.
Only holdup caused by rushing in REINSTATE which caused ZEALOT to be the last in to fix that up.
