  1. Thanks, Zamorca for the fun puzzle. Thanks, scchua for your characteristic illustrated blog, which is quite thorough.
    Liked APSE, OVERALL and ELICIT.

  2. It goes without saying, although I think it should still be said, a pangram.

Small typo in blog for 8d. Should say SEIZE.

  3. Good fun, plenty of smiles. In 10a I took “about” to be “C”, which left me with “dry” twice: TT and arid. So good to see here how I’d stuffed up. Didn’t know a teddy is a onesie, nor that a rood is a cross (I thought it was just one of those funny units of length). My French didn’t extend to knowing sixteen, but it does now.

    Thanks Zamorca and Pictorial Scchua.

  4. I was stuck on 15a so it was good to have the likely pangram to suggest an X was needed for AXED. A few others went in from the def and were only half-parsed.

The surface for TEDDY BEARS brought goodness knows what image to mind!

Thanks to Zamorca and to scchua for the as ever thorough and well-illustrated blog; sheep 1 v farmer 0

  5. What Wordplodder said re 15A (my last one in).
Thanks to Zamorca for a good spot of entertainment and the equally diverting blog from Scchua.

  6. Thanks Zamorca for the fun. I liked the compact clues with silky surfaces like AXED, LAMP, and NUDE. Thanks scchua for the illustrated blog, particularly the OFFAL photo. I’ve heard it said that it’s not a coincidence that OFFAL and awful are homophones but I don’t necessarily agree.

  7. An enjoyable puzzle and, as we’ve come to expect from this setter, a pangram to boot.
    Thanks, Zamorca and scchua.
