- I believe that the New Statesman’s Margaret Irvine tribute crossword by Anorak will appear this coming Friday (28th).
- There will be a full tribute to Margaret in July edition of 1 Across magazine: https://www.1across.co.uk

The 1 Across tribute is a reproduction of the final Mace puzzle, which appeared in the NS last year, plus the Anorak* puzzle that will also be in this month’s NS.

Saw this in the Guardian today:

As michelle says @2, Hugh Stephenson’s obituary of Nutmeg appeared in the Guardian yesterday. It is a nice piece, but I was a little surprised that it appeared in the “Other lives” section, which is where readers can submit tributes to family members, friends and so on. This is what the Guardian says about this section: Obituaries pages traditionally describe and celebrate the lives of the great and good, the famous and infamous. There is another type of life that deserves noticing: people less in the public eye, or lives lived beyond formal recognition. To offer a piece to Other Lives, contact us here.
Does the Guardian consider that a longstanding and much loved setter of its own crosswords is not sufficiently “in the public eye” to warrant a full obituary?
