  1. Spoiler alert: he starts off badly with a word that oed.com insists has a hyphen, but its 3 most recent quotations (all over 50 years old) give the lie to:’

    1960 – “Basement hangouts which have a vogue and then disappear.” – Guardian 9 November

    Nobody needs to actually watch Countdown any more – everything is recorded here, including words they all missed, like sedulity.
