Two unclued entries, eight consisting only of wordplay and the rest having additional letters in the clues to be removed. The extra letters spell out a consumer of product whose letters need to be removed before entering the undefined clues. Simple as that.
As usual start with the clues and see how it pans out. The first few across answers led to my correctly guessing the theme. Wurzels – those of a certain age will remember their songs and their love of cider. The press release of the title indicating how the drink is prepared by pressing apples. The eight unclued entries being apples:
LORD DERBY; BRAMLEY; BRAEBURN;REDSTREAK; PINK LADY; PIPPIN; McINTOSH RED; RUSSET
All need the letters of CIDER removed before entry.
The two unclued entries being APPLES and PUMACE.
Not forgetting the WURZELS and the lyrics “IT SOOTHES ALL ME TROUBLES AWAY” – for the rest of the lyrics see https://www.thewurzels.com/lyricsciderdrinker.htm
Thanks Vagans – Windy Miller liked a tipple of cider too – you wouldn’t get the first episode of Camberwick Green these days.

Many thanks for the review and to Vagans for the puzzle.
Is the solution for 33a complete? The H isn’t removed from the clue and the solution seems to be missing something between “+ =”
At 33A, the first H is removed from Church to give Curch – a kerchief for covering the head.
ORARIUM is an old word for a handkerchief (ancient curch)
The word-play is OR (soldiers) + [honor]ARIUM (only half of service fee)
Thanks to twencelas for the Blog and to Vagans for another interesting and challenging puzzle.
Thanks Cap’n – when I was writing the blog I was sure I’d left 3 to parse properly and I completed 2 and then convinced myself I’d parsed them all. Hit 60 last month so my mental decline continues!
Thanks Cap’n and twencelas!
