Cyclops being Cyclops…with some political satire, risqué surface readings and punning definitions…but lighter than usual on the skoolboy smuttery…
Starmer, Trump and Musk all make appearances in clues, but each is fairly scathing of the politician in question, and they are summed up by 3D, with politicians talking out of their RECTUM!
I enjoyed the emetic surface read of 12D L(A)UNCH, and the ‘spouting members’ at 5D URINAL! It was also nice to see ‘Diana’ referring to someone/something other than Princess Di – I think Cyclops also used Diana <-> Ross recently as well.
My thanks to Cyclops, and I trust all is clear below.
(This blog has been produced while travelling abroad with only an iPad and then finished off on 3.5 hours’ sleep due to a delayed plane on the way home, so I am sure the odd mistake has slipped through, but I am too tired to care!…)

Thanks mc, I agree with everything that you say.
Well, about this crossword, that is.
Thanks MC, I found this a fun offering from Cyclops, thanks to him also. I was away on holiday with no access to the puzzle other than on my phone’s screen so I accomplished most of it on wordplay alone. Completion was a lot easier when I got home and had access to the grid and a printed copy to work with.
Lovely Job…both yourself and Cyclops!!!
Struggled with DEITY and filled in more in hope than conviction. Couldn’t get the CINNA bit either…..but filled in with blind conviction!!!
DNF, was overthinking 4d PalM. I thought it referred to Mitt Romney, who is no great Ron T Dump pal, so I got totally lost. COD to the L(a)UNCH I think. Makes me think of a liquid lunch….
Many thanks to mc_rapper67 and Cyclops.
Many thanks.
Gosh, I spent half an hour trying to get my last clue (AMAZON) because I had CESURA crossing rather than CASUAL. Silly me.
AMAZON was my LOI too. It’s a very nice clue. Even with the correct crossings, ABATOR was the only candidate that reached my consciousness. It was only after a word search, I think my first here for some years, that I think the penny finally clicked.
Bit new to this. Why does Hell = dis?
Mike at #7 – Dis is another name for Hades, the underworld, Hell…
Collins: “the abode of the dead; underworld”
And (belated) thanks to all other commenters as well…
