Phi on Saturday – interesting.

Was it really 50 years yesterday that Fawlty Towers first aired? An absolute classic

A fun puzzle today too – 28ac was a great clue (for its construction) and 4dn would be my other pick for its amusement. Plenty of also-rans too

Thanks Phi – not too taxing for an autumnal morning.

  1. Bertandjoyce may now rest content: this is the burger puzzle. There are six (out of the 209) among the answers. Descriptions on phionline.net.nz shortly.

  2. Liked SUNDAY BEST (extended def?), MOSES, HEROINE, ZOOMED and MISCHIEF (‘arch’ is ‘chief’ for the WP and ‘cunning’ for the def. Right?).

    Thanks Phi and twencelas.

  3. Aha! It’s fun trying to guess which 6 are burgers. I hope GREASE isn’t one! Or APOSTLE. Fun puzzle, thanks both.

  4. Very late commenting – apologies!

We have been away and we are only just catching up on the puzzles. We did actually have a look at the website for the Wellington Burgers but we still would have missed the theme. We are blogging next Friday and hoped that we would be lucky….

Thanks Phi – always enjoyable with the added extra fun of trying to guess a theme or find a NINA even when there isn’t one.

    Thanks to twencelas too.
