Is there a problem with the grid in this week’s Beelzebub, please, or is this some kind of April Fool thing? I’ve got at least two of the down clues that don’t match up with the stated word lengths (the stated word lengths all match with the grid).
Hi Loumo
We don’t discuss prize puzzles on this site until after the closing date for entries but I can confirm that the grid is correct and that the date the puzzle was published is relevant.
Oh, sorry (really should have thought of that). Thanks for the response. I’ll stop weeping in frustration and try again more carefully.
Re this weeks puzzle (1152). In my opinion “bang out of order” No preamble to explain, not to mention that Beelzebub has never been a themed puzzle. I will surely not be the only one to express discontent. Apologies for posting here, but I feel it is the most direct route to those that set the puzzle.
Beelzebub is always a good cryptic workout, but this was unfair. In my opinion.
I’ll go away now……will no doubt post when this puzzle is blogged.
