  1. 27D Definiton is Religious, which can be used as a noun, usually for members of a religious order, often a closed one.

    Thanks to Kairos and scchua.

  2. My thanks to Scchua for the review and analysis.

A small point on 8d. The clue was “Drunk sailor’s heard to provoke…” in the printed version not “had” to provoke, the heard giving the homophone indicator. Hopefully this is the wording that appears in the on-line version today!

  3. 14ac – hope not!

All seemed straightforward and good. Had STRIP at first for 6d – S + trip(os) till I got to 11ac.

Favourite 1ac and 8d. LOI 25d – new spelling for me.

    Thx

  4. I found this trickier than some of you seem to have done, and I’m not sure I’ve seen a puzzle with so many Ks in the answers. I had the most trouble in the bottom half where it took me a while to see KINGDOM COME, KAPOK, UNIPOD and UNBEKNOWN. All the problems I had were self-inflicted because there was nothing at all wrong with the cluing and I enjoyed the solve.
